Pine warbler, dragonflies, cats –busy spot

Buster wasn't much help today.
Too hot, too buggy!
I think he's been in fights with Fred Groundhog,
who is digging a tunnel on our front lawn.

Widow skimmer -female
  (Libellula luctosa)

Cicadas
I'm in my blue period!

Pine warbler
Daisy under the table.
Red cherries ripe on the tree.

Daisy was hot and tired
from chasing dragonflies

Dorah and I ran down to the frog pond, puffing hard.
She has a deerfly on her head, bugs were bad.

It seems it was eating a wild strawberry,
but there were wings on the other side of the leaf.
It looks like my Widow skimmer.
Rusty snaketail (Ophiogomphus rupinsulensis)
Two large grasshoppers

Looks lovely and hot. Wonderful shots of your cat and the dragonfly.

Nice series of photos, the dragonflies are my favorite shots.

I love your summer! Your dragonflies are quite cooperative (mine will NOT hold still for long enough for this old lady to fumble around with her camera!) Now I think of it, I'm sure it isn't your dragonflies, but that you are younger and a more talented photographer.
