Kingston Harbour Daycation

We spontaneously took a trip to Kingston, to eat lunch in the Harbour. The birds were fabulous to see! It's a favourite spot, as we travelled there for our wedding anniversary lunch.
This year, Aug. 22, marks our 10th! Married the first time in 1975, that one fell through!
Undaunted, I tried again. This marriage is doing well! He's a peach and even does dishes!

We spotted photo-ops for a wedding party! The photographer made them all jump off the bench at the same time. Young professionals need to be so creative these days!

We happened to be there for the14th Annual Taste of Kingston Food Festival.

Nessie was selling organic treats and cakes. The cookie was a bit dry, hubby tells me. I avoided the cupcakes. I just don't need the calories!

Isn't she pretty with the flowers? And the handsome horses.

Grow a row for Kingston
I adore it when people share with others.

Kingston Animal Rescue
So nice to see non-profits getting some PR time!

Our boat!
Not our boat:
This is the only spot large enough for this special boat to dock. The harbour crew had to hoof it from the other end of the pier! Much speculation on our boat about who was on it, and how expensive it is!

The ferry runs all year. It changes its docking in winter, though.
Wolfe Island wind farm, farm in the middle ground, too!

For the whole photo album:

Everyone harnesses the wind.
This guy was learning, had a bit of trouble, was was still cheerful about it!
Wind power for work or play!
Many fine boats, for people with the money for this!

Not to mention luxury homes!

I loathe these things, from our time on a small lake. Many do, as they are too fast, too loud, too smelly, and disrespect the culture of summer cottaging. Why do they need to go this fast?!

Daycations are fun. I had one last weekend to Fort Langley. It would have been better if there weren't so many tourists in town. But I guess that is just what they want. I'll go back in the off season for a more leisurely time. - Margy

Looks like you had an awesome time. Great pictures. They make me feel cool.
My son spent a summer at the Kingston forces base and he really loved it there.

Happy Anniversary and many more! Love the idea of 'plant a row for the community'. Great idea. Loved everything again, except the water scooters, I agree with you those. I don't even mind the speed so much as I do the noise (and we're motor boaters, but we don't make that kind of gratuitous racket!)
