Snomageddon, fond memories of December, 2009 in Muskoka

What a time it was. This year, with little snowfall, it is quite a different story!
Here is the Tay River, Perth, Ontario, yesterday, Dec. 8, 2011.

Here are my Snowmageddon videos!

Barrie, Ontario, loaned Bracebridge a snow removal crew, 3 plows, 1 loader and a snow blower. We didn't have to call in the army!
Another video for Josephine, who loves trucks and things. This is Dave, our snowplow contractor. Were we glad to see him!

Muskoka had between 60 and 140 cm of snow in a couple of days. We are plowing out. The sun after the storm was a quite welcome. With a bit of ice on the lakeshore, it sparkled. Yet, you can see the snow squall clouds forming across the lake again!

Where were you?! Cars were stuck coming up the hill into Port Carling. Citiots were passing like madmen.

Winter driving is a tricky problem. Having had snow up to our ears... euphemistically speaking, of course, the snow plows are working their tires off!

Where is the snow this year? I feel like two big cosmic shoes are held over our heads waiting.

Good description of your snow. We get snow and sometimes we get a lot of snow but never anything that.

We had too much snow for too long last year, so the little bit we have now is just perfect for me.

Oh my, that was a bad winter wasn't it? It took my husband and many more like him ten hours to drive eight miles from his office that night. He finally rolled in at around one o'clock in the morning. Great post, your videos really set the atmosphere. Extremely glad it's been a mild one so far.

Magical clouds with superb lighting. Your snowploughing/driving,skidding videos make me so nostalgic for Canadian winters. They are so delightfully challenging.
