Rain drips like tears pooling cold at my feet
Clouds bring more angst adding to my defeat
Foliage nudged into animation
Spirit jarred wakes from winter's stagnation
Crashing waves punctuate with her downbeat
The shore ice begins its hasty retreat
The birds at the lake shore my sad soul greet
Nature ends her frigid isolation
Rain drips like tears
Rituals of spring end curb perceived defeat
Greens and blues they colour my world complete
New growth and the smell of growing resurrection
Help me breathe and lessen desperation
Heightens my senses that now are replete
Rain drips like tears
