Bird feeders, Fox, Butch

After a really warm week, we follow with a bit of a chill, only 3˚ C. Bundling up to visit the frogpond and trailcams has been tricky. One must factor in the bug net. 

I put my veggies into the ground during the warm days. That may have been a mistake, but they were getting leggy, and starting to show some wear and tear. Usually we plant on the May long weekend, May 21st. 

Yesterday, chilly and rainy. Things are greening up and the leaves are unfolding as they should.

 

The bird feeders are down. The birds are unhappy.  I've taken the last bit of bird seed down to the frogpond trailcam #3. Butch was quite happy. 

Up at the house, the birds are looking for said feeders.

Scarlet tanager: This was taken from my armchair, through the front window. I didn't dare get up or he'd flee.

I've been switching the camera about at the frogpond. 

The birds like the log as much as the raccoons.

Wood duck daddy is guarding the nest! I finally got a video, but he just sat there. At 20 seconds in one of them sort of whistles.

We had some oranges that were best beyond.
