Sunday to Kingston Harbour

Another daytrip. It was a beautiful day, with the odd tree changing colour.  The clouds are still remnants of the recent hurricane. They dissipated. We had rain this morning, just a smidge.

There are lots of orchards open for apple picking! We didn't stop.

There are stands of sumac with amazing colours.

I saw some swans on a drive-by.

This church is 175 years old, which to some is fairly young, but we are a young country.

The city of Kingston

There are lots of students, soldiers, and lots of runners, especially on a Sunday.

This care puzzled me. We had the green, but they were turning on a red.

The Holiday Inn has a lovely patio. That was our destination.

As well as watching a grackle, there are lots of boats, as well. This is with my videocamera zoom lens.

Lunch

Kingston Harbour

We took a walk along the harbour, there were lots of cormorants, people and boats. We are nearing the end of the season.

The cormorants in the Kingston harbour.

I watched people, while JB took himself off for a non-dairy ice cream cone! He returned with a flourish.

On the road home

I love the restaurant. K-Pop Subsushi. 'Opening soon!' Korean Pop is quite popular, we've seen them on some of our music shows. It's a step up from Backstreet Boys. I'm not sure what it has to do with food, though! Right beside it, a restaurant that offers Indian Cuisine. This is our Canada. A melting pot. I love it! In Perth, we have a new restaurant that offers Lebanese food. Slow progress!

One wonders the stories this house could tell. I think it has had its day.

Then, there are the highway markers. This is Travis (2003 - 2015), who died in a car incident.

Community mourns tragic loss - Frontenac News

The accident took place at the junction of Road 38 and McIvor Road, just north of Hwy. 401. Travis's parents, Jamie and Leanne, were in the car with him. Leanne suffered a hip injury and broken ribs and Jamie was uninjured, but Travis's injuries were more serious and he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He was taken off life support the next morning, after his organs were donated.

This is for rock girl!

Snug Harbour Resort, it's lovely! It's on Desert Lake. The river is beautiful.

We liked this gate. The thing is, it's pretty much useless, although maybe it's meant to prevent snow machines in winter!

The campers were pretty much gone! It's a shallow lake, with lots of fishing.

This is Canoe Lake. There were a few locals swimming, but pretty peaceful.

Home again, jiggety jig!

Springside Park Napanee

This is part of our serious lunch trip, 116 km!
It's a lovely park! We passed it on our way in to the restaurant. You have to get there early to get a river-side seat, though! We arrived at 11:30, and snatched a table. Afterwards, we headed back to the park. It was the Napanee Mills back in the day.

There was serious grooming by the birds. Much fun.

I love the signage. Lots to learn, or things I've forgotten about glaciation, the Precambrian Shield and our blessed First Nations who put up with us.

This seagull was hopeful, but if you feed em' there will be trouble!

The light standards have been sponsored by individuals. Very poignant!

There is something peaceful about the river flowing by. This video I will go back to in the November freezing rain or hail!
