🍃seeds grow

 March 3rd –  I planted them

March 15th – they emerge!

The pumpkins, squash, and zuchinni are coming along.

I decided to fill up the spaces between the jiffy pots and the other pots with soil. They are going to be huge in a month. Last year, Caitlin reminded me, we had frost on May 1st. I lost a couple of my squash plants, and a lot of milkweed.

March 22, my squash, pumpkins and zucchini are coming along. I did begin too early, but I needed the distraction.

I planted the flowers later. Maybe March 21st. March 26th they look good. In the bathroom I've got some coleus, strawflowers, pansies, and lupin. The zinnia I removed since they got too long and tipsy.

Imagine my shock! The middle section of forget-me-don'ts haven't germinated. My late mom loved them. I read the package. They have to be kept at 15 C. to germinate. Gotta read those directions!

April 2nd

Cinnamon was observing his front yard. The Orchid cactus is blooming (lower left) and the squash, pumpkins, zucchini and zinnia are coming along.

It was warm enough, April 8th, to pop the squashy things outside in the sunshine. They'll need hardening off.

I set them out May 1st, in the sunshine.

May 13th I planted them. Maybe a mistake!

Finally, at the end of September,  the pumpkin plants I'd grown from seed are blossoming. It's a bit late. They'll never amount to anything. I'll have to figure out something different for next year! In the meantime, our local farm has lots.
