I've been doing more reading, and MonarchWatch.org says that they don't count in raised monarchs, as they have a lower survival rate. They think it is something to do with not having sun and dark and moisture in proper balance. Interesting. This is a fascinating video:

Monarch Migration Update Sept 8 - 5200 Monarchs were spotted at the Tip this evening. Most on the west side near the Tip. For maximum viewing times the park will open at 6:30 am and the shuttle starts at 7 am. Get out early for your best chance to see the Monarchs.— Point Pelee NP (@PointPeleeNP) September 9, 2019
