Welcome to June 1st!

For Kate, my newest blog buddy.

We did a Facetime with Caitlin and Jean-Luc in Portugal. They are enjoying their 20th wedding anniversary trip. Their photos are amazing! After their first week in Lisbon, they went to Óbidos and stayed in a castle converted to a hotel. They are on the train for Porto now.

These buildings are ancient. The Castle of Óbedos dates to the 1100s.

We had a conversation with our Ottawa grandies, Jordan and Aster. They spent their first week with their other gramma and all went well. They've a schedule of activities as well as a menu plan. We'll take the cats to the Cat Motel Monday. Joe cannot bend enough to do litter. While they are at the 'cat spa,' both cats are having a shampoo and deshedding.
While I'm away, Joe is in charge of watering my plants. I gave him a tutorial yesterday.

We've had some cool weather, a front from the cold north. Rain fell on and off all day. That is it for May.

I had fun with the movie I was watching.

I've so much yard work to do, but it'll get done. My arm is still sore from the Wild Parsnip boils. I am having trouble keeping water in the goldfish pond, despite the rains. I think there is a hole. I am waiting to put the fishies out until I am back.

LOL - that reminds of the time I was watching some drama in OZ (a show called Water Rats), when one of the guest actresses appeared wearing the same outfit I had bought for a wedding!!! YAM xx

Hmmmm! Thank you. Your phoebe has yellow on its lower breast. I don't think my bird does. But my book says phoebes are flycatchers, so maybe that's why my confusion.

The week will go so quickly, how will you travel there? I am guessing it might be quite warm, hence the summer dresses. Joe, hope you know how to do laundry, or have ample to last for a week.

Have a wonderful time while you are away. I hope the cats enjoy their holiday too - ours would make us pay for it.
That trip o/s looks amazing. I am glad they are enjoying it.

I have the same feeling about yardwork. I just can't get on top of it. My son and DIL are going to Spain, Portugal and the Cary islands in June. My daughter and SIL are going to Austria in June.
