We had a day of rains, just popcorn clouds that pop up, dump rain, and disappear. We had 14 mm rain (1/2") and steamy temperatures on Tuesday. The has since gone, but this was very unusual.
Poor Bambi! This is what happens to them in deerfly season.
I use these deerfly stickies. Bug spray doesn't work for them!
This is my last capture of our resident pregnant doe! June 24 in the morning on the camera.
June 24th at dinner time, imagine my surprise!
The Freds are harassed by the deerflies, as well. Their burrows are cool being underground.
MiniFred is exhausted in this hot weather. I love the little paw stretched out and the yawn!
I noticed miniFred was really wet. What's with that? The dew had evaporated. Did the kit jump in the wetland or the water fountain?!

...this is a fabulous time of year, the deer flies aren't!
Love the deer images, those flies are awful. Take care, enjoy your day!
What miserable pests.
Oh goodness...those deer flies are aggressive. Poor deer, saddens me that they have to deal with them. Makes you wonder what Fred had been doing..
Those deerfly stickies look amazing. Pity the deer don't have the option!

Oh..... now we'll be watching for you to capture more shots of the fawn!!! So love living the wildlife via your lenses. YAM xx
Nice fawn so fun to see them! Looks like the sticky tape works great for the Deer flies, yes I feel sorry for the deer too.
Those flies look awful. I feel bad for the poor deer and the Freds.
Glad to see the beautiful summer and creatures at your place, Jenn!
Wonderful to finally see the fawn. I am sure the doe feels the same way. Heat and humidity? Ugh. Stay as cool as you can - all of you.
The Fredlets are going to come up to you very shortly and if you had food they'd be there now.
Ah. The sticky heat. I can relate.
I've never heard of a deerfly before, but they are nasty. Glad you know how to eradicate them.
Yikes, I didn't realize those deer flies were so big! Lovely to see the mother with her fawn.
