Daycation roadtrip: watch the skies

We left the house in the rain. By the time we ended up the day, it was warm and sunny! Of course, with our climate, we encountered construction, bridge repairs mostly. We were passed twice, you'd think we were going slowly. The corvette was just showing off. You do rather suck in your breath as he drives madly with an oncoming car.
We found one of my favourite roads, one that says 'Not maintained in winter!'
The shoes hanging on the tree were a bit of a puzzle!
I love the rocks, as it reminds me of Muskoka and Lake Superior geology. The rock cuts make driving easier.

I love daycation road trips! There are quite a few scary drivers out there though.

Shoe trees are fairly common up here in the Algonquin area - IF you know where to look for them! There is a story behind them but I'm waiting to hear it.
We're off on a DayCation tomorrow to the village of Killaloe, Ontario. They are "sistering" with Killaloe, Cty. Clare, Ireland and celebrating the Irish festival for the next ten days.

You made me wait until the very last for the Corvette. You told the story nicely as you went from less road to more less road along the way.

Love the term day-cation...don't know why I haven't heard that before (and I may blodge it sometime in the future, when I forget where I heard it!)

Seriously, a drive like this really can renew one's spirits....they make me happy and so did your post!

The shoe tree is funny.
