Kingston police dog handlers

Police canine officers and their service dogs share a very special bond. Cst. Jeff Dickson of the Kingston Police explains the relationship between himself and PSD Indy.

I snapped photos of the police trainers in Gravenhurst, ON.

It is a wonderful thing - we wanted to get a photo of the police guard and dog at OpSail this summer, but they declined. Dan did get one of them from the side, before he asked...

That looks like a beautiful and intelligent dog. We do not have dogs because we travel but we have cats. Actually we only have one cat now as the other died about 2 months ago. I still cannot speak about it. She was 14 ½ years old, a Korat, and when I gave her a pill it got lodged in her throat and strangled her. Our cats never go out door because the cars drive too fast in front of our house. My daughter had a puppy and on her birthday, as we were going to the car, the puppy darted on the road and was killed in front of us. So it’s more humane for us to keep our cat in the house.

The dog handlers do training in my subdivision quite often. Interesting to watch.
