Daisy, the Christmas tree and walkies

"When a bell rings, it means..." Daisy is in the Christmas tree, again! Seriously, she's climbing it once a day. I have several small ornaments, gifts from students over the years, and one is a little china mouse holding a bell. You can hear it in the video!

I took her on a walk, to get her to use up some energy. She seems to by trying to play with Annabelle, but Annie thinks Daisy is serious. Daisy and Dorah chase one another all the time. They know how to play fight.

Daisy insisted on following me on my walk. I told her 'Daddy' was at the house, and she could go back, but she's no chump!

The snow has a thin layer of ice on top of a good snow cover. When she falls through, it's up to her armpits!

I spotted some tracks in the snow. Actually they were ON the snow, not too heavy a critter. After some research, I figure it has to be our red fox. It's lighter than the coyote, although their tracks are similar. It was following the squirrel tracks. I wonder if it snatched a meal? Below is an archival photo from Bala, a fox I spotted on the frozen lake. Also, they are too quick for the trailcam, just a blur!

Daisy is certainly an entertaining companion. I think she is showing off her climbing talent to impress people -- and she does!

The tail flick of that polar vortex is now kicking up some chill this side of the pond. Our settled and mild late Autumn is well and truly behind us. No sign of any white stuff though. You've certainly got a full drift!!! YAM xx

With our snow on the deck I checked for any tracks, and there were none. That's good news, because if we had any mice on the deck there should have been evidence. Daisy looks like a good cat to take on walkies. - Margy

Oh gosh that picture of her in the tree should be your Christmas card. So darn cute. (But I hope the keepsake ornaments survive.) Merry Christmas to all at your home!

44 years ago, every time I returned from visiting SUe and Sha at the hospital, I woulld have to put up the tree one more time because the cats had been at it.

Daisy is definitely a climber. She must want to put up camp halfway up the tree and go for the summit tomorrow.
