Busy day for errands

We did play, too, after errands. First, Perth is a town that needs a ring road!
The chimney is all that's left of an old homestead.

Carleton Place

Our goal was to fetch hubby's latest naturopathic meds. He's building up his bone density, and immunities. So far, so good. This is the river, through Carleton Place. It's a great spot. My snappy new videocam takes selfies within the frame, you can see hubby in the frame behind me!
We went for a walk along Riverwalk, after we'd fetched his package of stuff. The first photo is a view from the bridge, the 2nd, the bridge!


I loved this guy's yellow hoodie. Sadly, the poor man was interrupted from watching the birds by cyclists and people like me snapping photos.


There were hundreds of geese! Hubby spotted these, all on one leg, all in a line!

It looked like a puppy walker. The electric bike didn't phase them.

The vet always has a sign with a snappy message! Then, it was home to let cats out to play.

Birds are flocking! (videos)

Sadly, the eastern part of the island, while great birding spots, were closed to civilians, non-members of the Kingston Field Naturalists. Then, there is Owl Wood, which is private. That's OK, as we have owls here (BARRED OWL)!

We did see some birds, starlings, hawk, kestrel! Of course, there were sheep, but there were lots of animals all around this part of the island. The kestrel didn't like the car. The hawk was grooming (see below). We have sheep near home, but this was a lovely trip. The stone work is amazing.



This is the finale! We achieved our goal, to visit Topsy Farm. It's a legend on Amherst Island. They've had this farm since 1972. They do amazing work, as well as supporting good causes, and have sustainable, ethical farming.


There is a lovely mix of homes and farms on the island. These are drive-bys.


 I was pretty jiggly, but here is the hawk!
