Leaves and hornets

 HORNETS!

As I was walking towards the shed, I noticed what I thought was part of a wasp nest on the ground. My thinking is that a critter got up there! I don't know, it could have been our fisher, weasel, or other nocturnal visitors.

The pieces were all scattered under the nest. This one wasp was the only one I could see.  All the cells look empty. It appears as if the queens have mated and the new queens have gone underground as is their way.

Also on the ground was a little red-eyed vireo nest.

Falling leaves

The leaves are well on their way to leaving us.

My SIL says they look like cheesies!

I was all hot to trot and mulch the leaves with the lawn tractor. Sadly the battery was dead! I plugged it in overnight and it was good to go. There is no point in raking, just mulching!
There were several wood frogs I had to avoid. Critters everywhere...

It is difficult getting work done! This looked like a buccaneer.

The Plane! The Plane!

I was sitting on my back deck passing the time. I tried to do some sketching, this is the bag Jean made for me. What a wonderful memory! I just didn't have the patience or the mind set, or motivation. I used to sketch when I visited my clients and there was a lull in conversation.

I had my first client Wednesday, since my client of three years died during COVID. We had the girls during March 2020, and I couldn't go back to visiting her. There is no closure. It is difficult.

I drove into a park, as I was trying to do the speed limit, and everyone else wanted to go faster. I let a line of cars pass me. It was a lovely view through the window.

There is a lot more air traffic, as the world ramps up again. Both large planes, jets, and private planes. Sadly, Ontario had 2 dead at a private Port Hope airport

This was a Buccaneer.

It is a fun challenge trying to film them!

One dude was doing a freefall. I called red roller. He did a roll – it was a bit loopy!

Frequent Flyers

I was rather curious about this plane. It didn't show up on the radar. I could hear it coming!

Doing a capture of the image, I guessed at the registration...

 and found it.

Winter wonderland

Thank you for your comments on our owling trip (Fri., Jan. 26th). I have so many photos, it was a lovely daycation.
I'll interrupt that series with walkies at home.

One of the dead trees we cut down. Daisy likes it.

Hubby went walkies, too.

Three planes went over. One after another. A perfect day for flying.
