Our grandies!

The Ottawa kids had a busy day on the weekend, Oct. 21st! Isabelle has been taking weekly private art lessons. Her class had an end of session art show. Papa went with her.

Papa did an excellent interview! Izzy explained her work. She is very thoughtful. We are so proud.

Jos participated in a trivia competition in Ottawa at Lisgar Collegiate. There was a planned demonstration and counter demonstration in Ottawa, a block away from City Hall close to parking for Caitlin. Apparently called 'Save the Children.'

Right in between two protest groups. One protest group is unhappy with the 'woke' curriculum in which gender issues are discussed.  The counterprotest group was south of Lisgar at the Human Rights Monument.

I checked my online sources, and found some intel from my Ottawa contacts!
"Super heavy duty police presence downtown. Metcalfe is blocked off. Lots of parking at city hall if needed!"
I texted Caitlin, who was driving at that point. Then texted Josephine, and told them their plan was good, to park at City Hall.

All went well. We are so proud. I blurred the other students faces, as I do not have permission to post them. The teachers and Jos have lovely smiling faces, however!

'Save the Children'

I checked in on the protests online, as I said. The Million March was canceled, but people from other groups still went.

Welcome to Ottawa! There is a massive @OttawaPolice presence downtown for a canceled March. pic.twitter.com/fUOfawXvvw

Chris Dacey is one player in this conflict. So is the other dude. The funny thing is that the second dude spent most of his time complaining that someone stole his t-shirt design. The good news is that there is much infighting within these groups.
The Casselman camp is pretty bad. Many are fighting colds and flu. Someone has left the group, another man has been kicked out!

The same thing went on in various cities across Canada. In Calgary, the counter protestors drowned out the Save the Children crowd! In Toronto, they had someone live streaming. They seem to like to live stream, although the video has been used against some, as in the Ottawa trial of Lich and Barber over the "Freedom Convoy."

I am really surprised at the ignorant claims of teachers grooming kids to be gay, or trans. As the statistics show, it is primarily middle-aged white male men who prey on kids. When teachers in Ottawa DSB begin to teach the health education curriculum, they send a letter home and tell parents who have their kids pulled from class. The older kids are sent to the library to study. Teachers cannot convert kids to be LGBTQ+. All we need to do is teach people to respect one another. To accept our kids as they are. The counter protesters sent a message to those who are misinformed.

Trip to to the art show!

My friend, Alison, was showing her artwork. We took off for a visit to Carleton Place. Families were out enjoying the sunny day.

There were so many artists, and fine art. It was wonderful.

I really like Alison's art. She is a lovely person, too.

We met online through the Otty Lake Association, and the process to prevent the gun range from going in, and finally met in person.
May be art of 1 person and text

Alison is also showing her art through the Manotick Art Association. These pieces are up at the Greely library. These are my favourites!

The high school celebrated some of their student works. The variety of the art was amazing.

Off we went home. The river is high. People have fences up to keep out debris.

JB had the great idea to go to Law and Orders! This restaurant blew up one year, Feb., 2016. It was epic, and no one was hurt. It was something to do with the propane tanks. It is a popular place, and they rebuilt.

We were hungry, so were 3 hydro crews! It was lovely having a meal outdoors in the sunshine.

From there we set off for home. More rushing spring waters!

This was Carleton Place, last week after our lunch out. The water is powerful, fast, and ferocious.

Arriving home, and more time in the day, I did some raking of leaves. The garden work is coming along. Hopefully, we get our tree limbs cleaned up today. We just had snacks for dinner. We were pleasantly full!

Off I go, then, Monday morning garbage detail. It's only 9 C., and I shall bundle up! Have a great week.

Carleton Place and an art show!

We were on our way to Almonte, we drove through Perth, then stopped off along the way at the Carleton Place art show. Before we left, I did a walkabout, and spotted Maggie, still pregnant, across the road.

The canoe club is a lovely setting.

Note the colours of the trees. They are still, many of them, in buds, not yet in full leaf. The season is so short!

Lunch at the pub in Almonte, note the umbrellas on the patio. It was the perfect day for it. The place was packed. The Almonte dam rebuild is coming along, I've been documenting its build for posterity.

Local towns have put in some of the lovely Canada 150th tulips. The drive home was interesting.

Hubby didn't see the cyclist, only the woman driving entirely in our lane!

Art show in the Enchanted Forest!

Lovely property
at the end of a dead end road!
