#1 Tupper Lake, NY our weekend trip

It was a lovely weekend trip with the kids and grandies. It was so nice of them to invite us! Our goal was Tupper Lake, in the Adirondacks. The trees were changing, and it was glorious.

Daisy was cold in the morning, she came indoors in the wee hours and slipped into my spot on the bed when I got up! They were anxious to go out and play, even in the cool morning, but they had to stay indoors until we returned on Sunday.

We left early (7:30 a.m.), to avoid the biking (Perth Cyclosportif),  which was to begin at 8:00. The fog from the temperature inversion made for beautiful wetlands. The water is warmer than the suddenly cold Autumn air.

We  drove across the Canadian/US border. I haven't used my passport in ages. The US Border Guard asked why we weren't driving with the kids (I told him we were meeting them in Tupper Lake - "what is the nature of your visit!). I said they were driving with the grandkids.
He said, "Wise move!"
Nice to have some humour! I waited to have breakfast and we found a Timmy Ho's in Ogdensburg.

It was about 200 km, with our choice of routes there and back.

Just beyond Ogdensburg, there were an Amish settlement, including signage. Just such a peaceful mode of transport.

The leaves were beautiful! Pops of colour here and there. Lots of farm land, and many geese gathering for the trip south.

Lots of park land along the way, like Raquette Boreal Park. They have an extensive adopt-a-highway program, and these folks were cleaning up the highway. The fall colours were so lovely. The sun was bright, and the windshield needs a bit of a cleaning!

Just before we arrived in Tupper Lake, we stopped for a moment. People were in a hurry, we were juggling for hubby's back, and we switched drivers.
This dude passed two cars and two motorcycles. I was shocked. Happy to have him long gone by the time we mounted again.

Cool rock, with a Canadian flag. I snagged a brighter photo on the return trip!
