It was a cold morning, as many have been. Cinnamon sits here and watches life go by.
The front porch is warm in the sun. I sat out under a blanket (it was a gift!) and read a few chapters of my book.
It says SPRING on the calendar, but it is a tad cold. I tried another sunset photo, but it didn't go too well.
Friday, March 27th. From the deck, I noticed what had to be dirt tracks. Either Fred was back, or miniFred was awake from her slumber in this burrow.
MiniFred was able to dig out.
Fred sightings over the years.
I am happy to report that miniFred is awake, March 27th. Momma Fred went back to her burrow until we get some actual grass. However, miniFred decided a green weed was just the thing!
I'd tossed 4 carrots out. This is what is left.
She is wary, as well she should be! I love the colours in her coat.
I didn't snap her doing 'bear' on her hind feet. She is vigilant, looking for predators. Here is an archive photo.
This is one of her predators. The quick red fox. Not to mention the coyotes...

Hello,
I like your collection of heron statues! Cute photos of your mini Fred. Take care, have a great day! Have a wonderful week ahead.
I hope springtime shoots are coming up as well, so the Freds will have food.
It may be cold out, but MiniFred says warmer days are on the way!
I love how you track Fred and miniFred over time, it turns a simple sighting into an ongoing story that feels personal. That detail about her choosing a green weed made me smile, it shows how observant you are with these small moments.
I hope that both Freds stay vigilant.
Yes! I'm hoping she survives the predators. Your porch spot looks so relaxing.

Aw, sweet Minifred! What a joyous thing... YAM xx
MiniFred is cute. I didn't realize the red fox from the story book was really quick. Seems to live across the street. Linda in Kansas
So happy to see Minifred.
Cinnamon and Fred look very fluffy and well fed.
So some critters showup and others disappear.
Nature is stirring.
Cinnamon looks exceptionally handsome!
I see you still have snow on the ground, but it looks to be melting?
We have seen several groundhog out and about in our area. I guess they think it's time, and they may be right as we will have very warm temps this week.
