Drought, butterflies and flowers

I've changed my header. Southern Ontario, as well as many areas, are in a drought. It doesn't look good.

July 9th, lush and green.

Aug. 7th, half the rainfall of normal for July, we are drying up.

The wetland is quite dry, as well.

Life in summer, Cinnamon and I reading on the back deck.

Easter comma butterfly:

The flowers and the butterflies are wonderful. I have watered about twice a week, not wanting to drain the well. Also, not wanting to lose our beautiful flowers.

Your new header looks good. It is sad when, during a drought, you begin to see things that need rain so bad. Your flowers and the lilies look good. The trees around your home are very pretty...I'm guessing those are firs?

Hi Jenn, just caught up on your posts. Those were great photos of the hawk you got. And lovely flowers too. I didn't know about all the cottage renters issues...sounds like a fortune to be made if you own one. Meanwhile, our grass is getting crispy and now back into heat says the forecast. Loved that photo of you on the riding mower.

Despite the lack of water your flowers are beautiful.

Your lilies are beautiful. We have had hardly any rain here. I use the water from my basement dehumidifier to water my planters.

Sue got a notice on her phone. It’s red, so we are not to water although I guess watering from cans is still okay.

You have a great mix of perennials.

Your flowers are beautiful! Those lilies - I've never grown them, but might have to try next year. It's very dry here, too. We need rain.
