Christie Lake, Brooke, and the Tay River

We left Fieldwork, and drove through Brooke. A true Sunday afternoon drive (Sept.  23)! Normally we avoid the roads during cottage season, but things are quieting down.

Former train tracks, now a trail: snowmachines and ATVs.

This is hubby's type of fence!

This is a pretty good drive-by shooting! Cottage signage varies in the area. This one is amazing!

Even though we cannot sit by a lake, driving around them is lovely.

In the light of flooding, characteristic of the Anthropocene era, this bunkie looks a bit close to the water and a high flood area.

A victim of the winds...

I love this home. The well is amazing. We'll have to go back and I'll get a proper photo!

The river looked inviting. The weeds have turned a beautiful colour.

South Frontenac to Napanee 2

Wednesday, September 5th
From Narrows Lock, through South Frontenac...
It was a really hot day. Summer, or the last dregs.

Back to school this past week!

Napanee

It was so peaceful, with the breeze blowing, especially knowing fall is on its way.

In the parking lot! I'll bet this goes into a garage in the near future!

Off across the way at the park

Here is the patio where we had lunch. It's such a great town! We'd not visited this park before.
