Saturday's Critters

We said goodbye to our grandies after Gramma Camp 2023. It was an epic week. Lots of heat, lots of deerflies, but we had a good time.

They are off home, and soon off to their overseas trip. Yes, I am the shortest!

The birds continue to love the water fountain. I spotted a scarlet tanager there, but didn't have a camera!

The water fountain attracts a lot of birds, as well as the ones nesting around the house.

The robins are on brood #2 (3 of them), the phoebes, as well. The phoebes have 4 chicks. There is much flying back and forth going on.

The ospreys are nesting nearby.

Fred is still active! Having built a nest, seeing them run back and forth with leaves, I imagine there are babies involved.

Down in the forest, I've found it interesting having two cameras focused on this busy path between the wetland and the frogpond. There is extra light from the alternate camera.

🐣They have all fledged, but remain around the house.

They are a wee bird species, but fun to watch. They have fledged, three, I think. The poor catalpa tree is a welcome roost for many. In the winter, a barred owl landed here in the dark.

It seems to be momma and porcupette!

To top things off, the big bear was here! I was miffed. He missed the second trailcam on the left. Just waltzed under it, I guess.

Happy birthday, hubby!

Since we wanted to share the day with the grandies, we drove into the city on Saturday for his Wednesday, birthday. I'd ordered some books, but also some things on his wish list!

We drove through Richmond, and passed by a cold-looking Jock River. The edges were icy, after a sudden flash freeze last week. There are lots of geese in the fields, as well.

Josee and her fun! Caitlin made a pie for the birthday boy. This he cold eat: no yeast, dairy or eggs.

Josee's project on the nervous system, including the brain she made, was a highlight. She had leftover goop, and both girls made some fun things!

After I showed off my pedicure, for our big trip, we compared footwear. In another "Don't tell the kids" moment, although Caitlin noticed, my socks didn't match! sigh.

Practicing selfies with JB's camera. I'm taking his for our trip. It's much more compact.

Then Josee took a turn! "You closed your eyes, Gramma!"
"I was winking!"

A big farewell at the door! Can you see our girls?!

Trip to Prince Edward County: Part III – shopping!

Here is my final post for PEC.
Birdhouse City is such a hoot. This is a fun spot. Hundreds of bird houses! I think the rock was a bigger hit than the bird houses, though!
My girls

Strike a pose!

We had a girl car and a boy car. Hubby and son-in-law were in our car. We got into the kids' car. Off we went to Bloomfield in Prince Edward County. This is one of my favourite stores.

Yes. I bought two things...
This is what I bought for the house!
Her wing opens and you can put a tea light in it.
Ants - I spray painted them!
We stopped for coffee and buttertarts, and did a Selfie/Groupie!

We visited when we stayed here for our 10th anniversary in 2012.
