🇨🇦 Federal Politics: Election #45

Our PM Trudeau has stepped aside. The federal Liberals are having a leadership election. It's crucial to have someone who will face the new US president.  The vote for a new leader is March 9th. Parliament is prorogued until March 24. We anticipate an election on April 28th.

🗳All this has turned out well for our Canadian federal election, IMHO. Our Conservative candidate, PP, has gone down in the polls. He's still complaining about the previous government and former PM Trudeau. (Does this sound familiar?!) PM Mark Carney is surging in the polls. He is confident, makes sense, has a degree in economics, and knows how to handle the US government.

not shocking...

This is what we've faced all around us. The 'F* Trudeau' signs are being replaced. There's a lot of merchandise that was all for nought!

On Friday, March 28th, our PM Mark Carney had a 90-minute phone call with the president. PM said it was cordial. He said Canada has Agency and Power. Finally, the orange felon referred to our PM with respect. That's what happens when you stand up to a bully.

The obvious bias of American owned newspapers are continuing to tell PP how to overcome the polls.

📈Election 44 Canada is heading for a federal election. They dropped the Writ on Sunday, August 15th. As if we need an election. Basically, it's a fight for power between Liberals and Conservatives. It's thirty-six days of chaos, backbiting, snarky.  VOTING DAY, Monday, September 20th.

"The PPC ran on a campaign to phase out all pandemic spending programs, eliminate multicultural funding, limit the number of immigrants, abandon greenhouse gas emissions-reduction targets and repeal laws that limit expression online."

This should be criminal.

I'm watching polls, because it is interesting. This was CTV's conclusion August 14th.

The Issues
There are many issues. Electors need to figure out federal jurisdiction, rather than provincial or municipal issues.
A pandemic, multiple political scandals, Indigenous Reconciliation (or lack thereof), government spending, the economy, Climate Change, .
The two Michaels and Robert Schellenberg, are just three of 119 Canadians incarcerated in China.

I'm registered to vote. I did it online. Canadians can 📩vote by mail📬, as well, but if you sign up for that, you can't vote in person.
