Saturday's Critters

It took time and effort to video this! Luck = preparation + opportunity. Blue Jay courting:

🐣 PHOEBE 5 phoebe eggs, estimated to hatch May 15! They are in a safe place. Critters tend to avoid the house.

This Blue Jay was making strange sounds!

Barry Beaver continues to be busy. In the dark, it seems. That's when the coyotes are out... I should warn him.

Along Barry's path, a porcupine. Or a porcupette, it seems smallish.

Our squirrel, '#75,' was supervising the crows who were gathering deer fur for their nest! We lost a fawn in March to coyotes.

The woodpecker was going at #75's nest box! This is in between banging on the internet tower!

Those phoebes seemed to pick the perfect spot for their nest!

The courting blue jays is my favorite of all your videos! I've never seen that before -- and it was well worth all the time and effort it took to get it.

Lovely captures on your trail cameras.

What will #75 do if the woodpeckers move in?

Hello, great captures of the birds. I love the Jay images and the woodpecker. Sad to hear about the loss of the fawn. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

The woodpecker moved on. At one point we had 7 black squirrels, so I think they'd make a nest elsewhere, if need be!

Blue Jays are a mess. I love him but they are loud. My wife has fallen in love with the fb page of a local wildlife rescue place especially the baby beavers they take care of. I'm telling her, no we don't need a beaver but she is bad about doing what she wants.

Always nice to watch the critters at your place. But run out and warn Barry about the coyotes!

Apparently Barry can see well in the dark, as he's interested in not only the trail cam but something else off camera!
