Despite the rain, ice rain and snow, there is action as hungry critters try to find food. We had 13 deer Tuesday morning. Everyone got a mouthful. The one with the hurt leg is still visiting.
#75 was enjoying a peanut!
There were 23 mourning doves at the bird feeder. With the ice rain, I'm happy to bird watch from the front window!
Labbit is around after dusk.
He is still limping, with few apex predators, his only task is to get food.
Both the deer and Labbit were looking for food under around the house.
The doe, carefully watching for coyotes, was whacking away at the pumpkin!

I had a surprise on our trail cam. A badger and some foxes. I haven't seen a badger in ages and the fox have not been around for a few years. But with many of the neighbors on the ridge have free ranging chickens.
I think the chickens will supplement the fox diet.
Poor lame critters. They are out there on their own.
I saw about a dozen Robins in a crabapple tree this morning. It was a feeding frenzy.
Critters, critters everywhere and how precious they are. I saw on the news yesterday where a Bear had made it a comfy spot for the Winter under a families home. It was a big ol' thing as well. Stay clear of the Bears... lol
I love seeing all your creatures! In fact, I ordered bird seed & feeders because I miss watching them so much. *I took them down because our cat is a horrible menace to them :(. He's older now, and can't get up so high, so they should be in no danger.
I especially love it when the lights are on and you can see the critters more clearly! Such a wonderful diversity of wildlife but deer are among the best (and Labbit.)
All the critters came out.

We don't see much wildlife here these days, since we have young active dogs. Squirrels, an occasional rabbit and a deer here and there--- most of the deer herd died off this year due to the drought and EHD. We hear coyotes often, and once in a while spot a fox or a bobcat. Bears are around but we have yet to see one on our place, thank goodness. As a gardener, I prefer the wildlife to stay in the woods and fields, and away from my fruit trees and plants. So I enjoy seeing all your critters, especially those beavers.
I sure hope you had a wonderful Birthday Jenn. We have a few family members who have birthdays around Christmas and it can be a challenge to work in all the celebrations so near to Christmas. What fun your kids are having...I've never been snow skiing and for sure want be doing it anytime in the future, but it looks so fun. I prefer just riding the ski lifts. The critters are all doing well.
