Day one of Lanark County's
Dignity House Day Hospice
One of the coldest days of the season. It was -30C. as I shovelled the sidewalk at the kiss and drop!
Our ultimate goal is a full time hospice. For now, every Monday Dignity House runs from 10 until 3:00 p.m., with four volunteers, as well as Alanna Scanlon, our Nurse Coordinator.

You really go for the heavy stuff. What a valuable thing to do. These people are at a time in life when they really need our support. Congratulations on you steps to set up a hospice.
It's great to see you have become active in your new community!
Thank you, both. This is a 4-year project, led by Alanna, our nurse. I've had 15 hours of volunteer training for our hospice. It is a big time commitment: 9:00 - 3:30 for volunteers.
Hubby and I are out, between us, 17 hours a week. It is rewarding. Keeps us off the street! Community, not technology, is what people with health issues need. http://bit.ly/goXs6N
'Elderly parents sue adult children for support' Where does responsibility lie? Most seniors eschew help. http://bit.ly/eorJuo
