Ode to a pine tree

I took a forest walk. Another deer bed beside a small tree. Lots of tracks, including the coyote.

They are difficult to photograph, tracks in snow. This is coyote since you can draw an 'X' across the print. Cats don't have that attribute.

This is our Bobcat!

Here's a photo of it! Here is the video if you are so inclined.

I saw this snow on the fallen tree on lot #3. It finally gave up the ghost last summer.

It is such a mess.

It is a tree I have enjoyed over the years we've lived here. Here is Oliver cat in the tree.

The flickers and pileated woodpeckers have been at it as it dies.

The sun is shining, and it's a little warmer.

The snow at your place is still so clean. It is all fairly dirty here now.

Oliver is UP there! It may look like a mess but to me it's beautiful and forest-y.

That tree has lived such a useful life and now goes on to continue as it lies on the ground, making humus or compost as it decomposes.Still some fun there for the cats to run along the trunk.

At least the woodpeckers find it enjoyable!

Sorry to hear the tree fell.

There's lots of good things to eat in the old dead trees.

A fine story post. Love to your tree; we have an apple tree that I have chronicled, including the cat climbing it. And, of course, the kid climbing it.
