Driveway clear out!

Well, we had to buy a new printer/scanner. We use it a lot, considering we are retired! We scan a number of thing. It refills with ink bottles. We'll see how this goes. I did a print of an article I wrote on animal tracks, and the photos came out really well.

We had the snowblower taken away, and it should be repaired next week. A part is on order. A new machine is about $3500! It's a great workhorse.

Feb. 16, 2025!

Things can be quiet indoors. Not in the morning, as they roar around chasing one another. Nutmeg likes to sit on the railing, then jump down loudly on all four paws.

By night time, we hope we've worn them out.

The young man who did our driveway was terrific. In the dark, 8 pm! Very conscientious.

I wandered down the day before. There was a lot of snow from the snowplows. I couldn't even attempt it.

We are free!

I did the steps twice Tuesday, once on Wednesday! Spring is coming!

JL took Aster to the ski hill this week. She goes snowboarding while Papa skis. This is almost like being there, without the pulled muscles. 😏

We're having fun watching the Olympics. Again, with all the horrid news out there...  We wondered how they cleaned the half pipe. This way:

I'm glad you had help for your driveway. That's a big one! And I hate it when the snowplows "plow you in" instead of out! I wish Lizzie still played and ran. (My vet wishes that too.) About the only way I can ever get her to run is to throw her treats, which sort of defeats the purpose!

I'm a fan of figure skating, and was quite impressed with the Canadian couple. Sorry they didn't win!

It is good that you have found someone to do the driveway when you can't do it. I'm hoping that we get some melt this weekend.

Love all the snow pics. I could be out there taking similar shots. Luckily, JG got the drive cleared before the propane truck had to back up it. We were down to 8% and getting very nervous.

Oops. Forgot to add that I have the same printer as you show above and have been very happy with it. Once I got the connections right, that is. It is not as detailed a print as my old photo printer, but perfectly adequate for most jobs I do.

That is scary! We were down to 30% once and I was worried. There was a propane shortage, though.

I agree, Jeanie!

It's good you have 2 cats to keep after each other. I wondered how much a snow plow costs, that's a big investment. Obviously very needed tho.

So much snow!! We have next to none at the moment, but it looks like that will change next week. Here, the graders have a device that comes down so they can clear the spaces for driveways and they even leave spaces for cars to park on the street. I never saw such a thing until we moved here. Works out well for homeowners not having to deal with those dang piles of hard packed snow at the end of driveways, but it takes so much longer as a result. Boo winter!

I’m glad you found someone dependable to clear the driveway. There’s such relief in seeing it all opened up again after the plows pile it high.

Great choice for your new printer, my Canon is similar and SO easy to refill the inks, and they last for ages. Snow everywhere, we have rain and a little thunder.

I love how you balance chores, technology, and fun with the kids and pets. The little details, like Nutmeg jumping from the railing, really bring the day to life. Spring can’t come soon enough after all that snow.

Is it the humans or the cats that get worn out?

Not good to go have your snowblower down where you live. I am glad it will be repaired quickly. And the driveway cleared, hurray! Larry graded ours, then used this thing called a toother that kind of rakes/scratches the ice to loosen it, but then that hydraulic line broke. The weather warmed up though, so we were lucky, as the ice is almost gone.
