They are delightful to watch. They surround the house in the morning.
I noticed they were after my rhododendrons!
My mistake was leaving the pumpkins in the middle of the garden.
They were eyeing the bird feeder.
Their fur coats are amazing!`
The poor rhodos... I think they ate the one bud, and most of the leaves. I am not confident about spring blooms!
I wrapped them up for protection. December was a bit of a shock, as well as November. I wasn't ready!
🥶 Monday morning, -17 ℃. and I drove the garbage the 100m to the highway pickup. Bbbbrrrrrr!

It is good to be able to embrace winter. Our Ottawa kids went tobogganing, after a ski afternoon last week. Jordan is back at university. Aster back to gr. 10 and exams this month!
Our Vancouver family are embracing winter after their big move to a new house and a run in their panto theatre.
Cluny:
I looked like Frosty snowman when I was done.
It's not so bad doing it in the sunshine, after the snowfall. That did not happen Monday.
I like winter, at least at this point of the season. It’s a pain for commuters, though. It took Dani 2 hours to get home from uni yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT of work! A snowy winter sure keeps you busy. I'm watching fog and some drizzle move in. It will freeze on the cold gravel roads and make it pure ice so I may end up just watching the world go by today or putting on my cleats and going out to look for stuff.
ReplyDeleteI still have a pumpkin in the front garden -- it's half caved in and looks awful. I've been waiting for a semi-decent day to dump it in back by the woodpile and let the critters at it -- or let it disintegrate out of public view. So far, not happening. I'm ready for winter to be done -- I really admire you!

ReplyDeleteI struggle to be motivated just to do the chores within my home... thank heavens I don't have an outside to contend with! YAM xx
You have such nice companions in your yard.
ReplyDeleteI love winter, but we don't get much snow. It would be fun to learn some of the winter sports like skiing and ice skating though. I hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteOh, the deer are hungry - they look well fell on your rhodys! Love the sledding video, I miss that :)
ReplyDeleteI love the deer, how cute.
ReplyDeleteSo some people make use of the snow to have fun and some fight it by trying to get rid of it. I remember the fun of sliding.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots of deer and grands! My son in Colorado says they don't have fresh snow, but he found a shady place in the mountains to cross country sky for a bit.
ReplyDeleteSki...not cross country sky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand tobogganing hill ... and it looks to be safe, as well.
