And locally, people set off fireworks on an island in the nearby lake. I counted 5 emergency vehicles go by. Forest fires are to be feared here. Our firefighters are volunteers.

Fireworks are really unnecessary these days, yet so many people insist on them.

It has been very dry. The river is low. Water usage is in the red here.
