Chilly mornings...

I put the garbage out and it was 10 ℃ . it will warm up later as we ease into Autumn. Perhaps 18℃ .

Honestly, I saw a hummingbird! Aug. 31st and it likes the petunias and the roses.

I wrapped the roses last year. I think it made a difference.

Our Ottawa family came for a visit. Jo has done some work on his hair. Aster is still a red head!
He did this all by himself in the mirror. he bleached it, then drew on the black dye. He's ready for school.

JL cooked us some salmon on the BBQ. We finished off my peach cobbler for dessert. Next, we finally found a show we could all agree upon: Arthur the King! It was filmed in Dominican Republic, although the actual tale took place in Ecuador during a competition.
"It is based on the 2016 non-fiction book Arthur - The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home."
We're on count downs for critters.
Last view, Aug. 27

Blast from the past: September, 2023, we visited the Fantasy in the Forest show!

  1. How wonderful to see a hummingbird, and your garden still blooming. So nice to see your family visiting and Jo and Aster getting ready for school. Schools are in already in here. I noticed our local high school’s kids parking lot was full on Friday. I can’t keep starting dates in my head now we don’t have a son going to school and hasn’t for many years. BBQ and Peach Cobbler sounds wonderful! Cute frog! I don’t see that type too often, more of bullfrogs than anything else. The movie sounds very interesting, will keep a look-out. Cute deer video. I remember your last photo and enjoyed seeing it again. Happy September to you all Jenn.

  2. Wow, your grands have sure changed in just a year! But I do like that Jo is expressing himself artistically with hair. Hadn't seen dying on a scalp before...wonder what it will look like as the hair grows in! (Ask for another shot in a few weeks!) I do hope their friends are not only accepting but supporting as he tries things out.

  6. We're still seeing hummingbirds, but I'm surprised you are. Ours like the honeysuckle and abelia.
