We've had rain, ice rain, snow, and miserable weather. Our shin-deep snow has melted. Last night, another cm of snow as we have moved back below zero C.
Dratted Red Squirrel is busy harvesting pumpkin seeds.
The deer have thick coats, and hollow fur, which insulates and absorbs the warmth of the sun.

The snow comes and goes, as well as the deer. They use the sidewalk to get to the bird feeder. Even Labbit likes the sidewalk.

Butch raccoon is awake. They sleep in really cold temperatures, normal for January. We were in winter limbo. Not cold enough for snow, and limited winter outdoor activities.Butch Jan 5 from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.

Saturday's Critters # 473 |
Glad the deer/rabbit/coon can benefit frrom your plow-work. Such sweet little ones trying to keep fed and warm. I think I would hibernate if I had a choice.

ReplyDeleteLove my dose of nature through your lens... though I confess, it is slightly weird seeing Crumbly Acres without its usual blanket of winter white! YAM xx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteYou do have a nice herd of deer hanging out, I like the cute rabbit.
We still have hunting going on here, so the deer have disappeared.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
...it's nice that the deer share their place with you!
ReplyDeleteYou're sure getting lots of different weather. It makes it easier to see all the critters when the grass is low. Hope the weekend is nice and you see some sunshine!
ReplyDeleteDoes your trail cam follow the rabbit?? Very cautious indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your critters. Our weather is also weird. We really haven't settled very well into summer yet.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is so weird this year. I would love to see some sunshine.
ReplyDeleteNature is alive and well at your place!
ReplyDeleteThat squirrel is such a cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteSo much activity!
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit colder today — more like January should be. Closer, at least.
ReplyDeleteWhat miserable weather. Give me a blizzard with snow and I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteNice to see the changing weather. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteWinter is a strange season indeed in recent years. I long for a traditional winter when snow blankets the ground and it remains cold. Probably a thing of the past, unfortunately.
ReplyDeletei did scroll through 2 posts ...what fun. i didn't realize that deer would lose so much hair. interesting. love learning. thanks for that. ( ;
ReplyDeleteIt never ceases to amaze me how well you and nature coexist.
ReplyDeleteso nice to see deers. Haven´t seen any for some time and I miss them.
