More ice rain at Crumbly Acres!

Thursday morning, a sheen of ice on the trees. After the horrors of Ice Storm '98, it simply scares me. This morning I can hear it dripping off the trees, which is a good sign. It is above freezing, we will hope for the best. I am afraid to look this morning. We are going to be 4 C., they tell us.

Ontario Power Outages

Power outages continue to confound the situation. This location↓, on the edge of Algonquin Park, has been difficult to reach. Nay, impossible to reach, and they are burning a ton of fuel to both heat their homes and keep generators going. Many rural folks have generators and wood stoves, but these require fuel. Read more:

I am grateful for power and heat these days. I did zero work outside yesterday, as the sidewalk, the back deck, were covered in ice. The driveway wasn't too bad, but there were spots of ice and I don't want to risk a fall. I did venture out, but not far. The sound encapsulates Ice Storm '98. It gives me the hee bee jeebies.
