Our night time visitor

😼Oregano <= I've been tracking his sightings.

Our feral friend was back. He's looking a bit slimmer in the dead of winter. There aren't many outdoors cats around. He doesn't have to fight other intact cats. Cinnamon isn't too bothered by him being outdoors in the night, Cinnamon is kept in at night.

On the back deck, I'd dumped some expired sour cream. Some of it hit the plexiglass and froze. Apparently, he licked it off! You can see his tracks as he leaned out through the gap.

Oregano part 1

I was happy to find that Oregano was on both the front deck trailcam, and on the camera on the driveway. It's a nice challenge setting the cameras up, and inspecting the results in the morning. Retirement has changed in this era. It's tough finding things to do.

Midnight, 1:15, 2 a.m., 3:17, 3:29, 4, 4:30, and by 4:37 he even stops for a bit of butt cleaning just before he trotted down the driveway.

Oregano part 3

The back door trailcam caught him coming and going! I loved seeing him leap up onto the snow in the backyard. I thought they were his tracks in the snow and he must have been inspecting the rabbit tracks. Even the rabbits have been quiet.

  3. Your visitors really are interesting! We might get a skunk if we put the right bait out. Or raccoons. Nothing more interesting than that.

  4. I wonder if he makes his quarters in a shed or barn.

  6. His tail pattern looks so much like a racoon when he's walking away from the camera. It's cold out there! Linda in Kansas

  7. And slowly winter ebbs, but it seems to take forever, doesn't it? He's a healthy looking guy!

  8. He is a busy boy, but then most cats sleep during the day and hunt at night. Love seeing him trot down the drive, and a leap into the snow, his paws must be well hardened.

  12. So cold out. I hope he has a warm spot to hunker down. Does he have people, do you know? I'm seeing two roaming cats in my yard periodically -- a gorgeous calico and one that looked so much like Lizzie I had to check to be sure she didn't get out!
