Yes, we were headed for Westport for lunch, Friday, March 1st, but we decided to eat in Newboro. You have to keep your eyes peeled!

The osprey have built nests in the hydro towers. They will return, once the rivers open to fishing.

Frozen rivers are pretty common.

We made it.

It's beautiful, with old beams.

I had quiche-of-the-day and salad, hubby had a stir fry.

Newboro is a lovely town. Lots of water.

From there, a bit more driving until we arrived home.

Home again... the restaurant only had Chardonnay by the bottle. Our server corked it when we were done, and I brought the remainder home, sat and read on the front porch in the sunshine.

You look radiant! That's the way to go.
ReplyDeleteIs it porch weather already? Yay! That looks cozy. Suns up here too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely sunny outing!
ReplyDeleteThere might well be sunshine, but you are still snuggled up. Deer leaping across the highway!! Lovely place to have a meal, and frozen rivers, all s"Stuff" I can only dream about. Lap up that sun, our mornings are already so dark even at 6.30 a.m.

ReplyDeleteThat's the life!!! YAM xx
You had a very nice day.
ReplyDeleteQuite a trip to make!
ReplyDeleteWe've only been to the store at Newboro and never explored around the town. I don't think I even realized that it was on the canal. We have been to locks in that general area, including The Narrows, but not the Newboro Lock.
ReplyDeleteLovely post and pictures.
ReplyDeleteCheers !
All the best Jan
