Monarchs, and other flyers

The garden is so lush. The monarch was having a grand time.

Here is the monarch in action.

Then there was bunny, who raced out of the grass. I screamed in surprise.

Our song sparrow. He sings atop the lilac many times a day!

I was watching as the cedar waxwings sat atop the same lilac! I love their masks!

Three shots, as the sun and leaves danced in the wind, taken seconds apart. The balloon flower is one of my faves. When my youngest was about 8, we all went to the garden centre. He chose this type of flower.

  2. I love the picture of the bunny. The ones here aren't nearly afraid enough. It takes quite a bit to chase them off the property. It is nice to see monarchs. I've spotted a couple recently, as well. -Jenn

  4. How beautiful these butterflies are! I've recently seen a lot of butterflies but only dark brown butterflies (on mountain Vitosha in Bulgaria); no other color.

  10. Platycodon. That's what balloon flowers are. When I got interested in gardening about 20 years ago, I tended to learn from books, so I know a few flowers just as well from their Latin names as their common names. Too bad I can't remember what I did yesterday. :)

This comment has little relevance to your post. I just thought I would throw it in there. :)
