I heard a Pine Grosbeak, according to Merlin. This one sounded like it was in the big pine tree out back. I've no photos that I can find. Just a photo of the purple finch. Whaddya think? Close enough?! 😉 The purple finch and house finch always give me trouble. Now I have to worry about the Pine Grosbeak!
The doe was on a mission.
These two hang around all the time. Once Spring arrives we won't see them.
I saw these tracks, and wondered who was out in the night! 🦨
Scanning the trailcams, I found some answers. The Crumbly Acres camera doesn't capture small mammals too well.
I caught it as it went along the driveway, headed across the highway.
I wrote a piece about animal tracking for our local lake association! Soon the snow will go and we won't know who goes there!

Great photos, I love the deer and great sighting of the Pine Grosbeak. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit surprising that these nocturnal guys don't shy away from the motion sensor lights.
ReplyDeleteThe skunk has a funny hopping-running style. It must be fun to guess the track marks in the morning. You probably know most of them by now?
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice blog plus photos and videos. Thank you
ReplyDeleteAnd nice article too. I read it.
ReplyDeleteThe purple finch is so pretty. Love the deer.
ReplyDeleteYipes. Luckily we have not had one for years, as I can just picture what my daughter's long haired and major explorer of a dog would do with even one skunk.
ReplyDeleteAh! Now there's one good reason for snow. I've been looking for one!
ReplyDeleteI don't think skunks will be our here for a while. It's still very cold.
