Saturday's critters

It's been so cold. The morning brought some pretty skyscapes, the afternoon brought snow.

It was a marvellous couple of days with the Ottawa kids here. I've lots of stories to tell in the next few days. Suffice to say we were delighted to be together.

UPDATE: Now, I think it was a red-bellied woodpecker!

We are enjoying the critters. Caitlin and I saw a woodpecker in the horse chestnut tree. I think it was the yellow-bellied sapsucker. (Archive photo!)

Mourning doves are happy. I counted 19!

  1. The sky here at sunrise has also sometimes been a beautiful pink. Your photos capture that moment in a very pretty way.

  3. That's cute that Labbit is hanging out with the deer. Just like the movie Bambi! Linda in Kansas

  4. It's so cool to see Labbit and Deer eating the same corn, and not a bit of friction as to who gets what!

  6. Our plowers came although the fall wasn't as great as expected. I just had to clear our little walk and the patch close to the garage door.

  7. I think they had more snow in the city than we did. JG is out plowing at the moment, but said it was really not necessary. Looking forward to your stories.
My wonderful daughters, plus SIL, did the dinner, cleaned up and packaged the leftovers. Love it.
