Deer mating season has begun!

I wrote this a few days ago, but since then we've had snow. I'm anxious to go down and see if they've uncovered it.

This buck scrape is being monitored. Three scrapes in a row!

I put the trailcam on it.

There is another scrape, at a bush with branches hanging down. (Non-mental note!)

It was a nice walk.

Last flower for awhile!

Here he is: football, curling, control over the TV clicker, a cat, and a warm fire! What else could a man want?!

Nutmeg (AKA Killer) watching her more passive brother hunting for mice.

I came across this photo from 2013. That teeny evergreen!
↑2013, and now↓ look at that tree!
The branches are burdened by snow.

I created a puzzle, now that the snow covers all the lovely leaves.

  1. Joe looks in his element! For that matter, so does Nutmeg. Keep us posted on the deer.

  2. It is cold enough here to snow, none yet.
Cute kitty, has a nice view out the window.
Take care, have a great day!

  3. Tamaracks don’t turn back to green exactly. They drop their needles and grown new ones in the spring, like normal deciduous trees.

  4. ...when I was in the nursery business, deer rubs were a HUGE problem!

  7. Our daughter lives on the edge of town on 3 acres. They had two male deer locking horns in their back yard, close to the house. With two little ones, it was a bit unnerving. But enjoyable to watch.

  9. I didn't take one pic of the snow - it was too early and discouraging to see.

  10. Waiting for videos of the deer. Loved the evergreen in the snow. And I'm surprised your Mr. doesn't have something to put his feet up on. That's part of my comfort status!

  11. Jenn - so happy to see that someone is getting snow! Our local ski resort is supposed to open in a month, and we are skeptical! The pine tree has grown so much - gorgeous, especially with the snow!

  15. Hello Jenn :)
You live in a beautiful place, and I would love to go for a walk in that woodland area. It must be very cold for you to get snow though, but your lounge looks warm and cosy.
    All the best
    Sonjia.
