Brockville (2) – the restaurant!

 Monday, October 6th

On the road again: Brockville (1)!

We made it to Brockville, perhaps the real last summer-like day around here. The high was to be 28 ℃, which is lovely.

Our goal was to have lunch, and walk about the harbour. Just as we arrived, my map told me the restaurant was closed, even though Joe checked online. What panic?! Happily, it was open, and very quiet.

We made it to Moose McGuire's. Here is an artsy photo.

There is something about being by the water.

This is the view. Just lovely. It's very busy in summer.  You can see the half window, which keeps out wind and rain. It was delightful.

This is the view from the restaurant!

Our late lunch arrived. Mine was pretty awful. The shrimp on my jambalaya was falling apart. The spaghetti noodles were almost soggy, the sauce a sort of soupy thing. I was disappointed.
The server was a happy young man, which helped.

This is the view of the harbour from the restaurant.

This is the restaurant, surrounded by condo towers.

There we are! We are happy as our Vancouver kids are here.

  2. It looks like a great setting and a wonderful day out -- till lunch arrived. Soggy shrimp in jambalaya does not sound good! Did they compensate you at all? I'm so glad you got out. Soon there will be snow and cold and you'll remember that beautiful water.

  5. Your post reminds me of when I first "met" you, It was some kind of discussion about the Tall Ships festival that was happening in Brockville. We were both writing about it and posting almost identical photos. Can't remember how we connected, but that was the catalyst.

  7. We were at a cafe last week, and the tables were all seated full with very noisy people!!! Luckily there was another room that went to an outside area, much quieter. Love your hair and the view.
