The back deck has been the safest place to be for me! The bugs don't like the overhang. It's the coolest, in the shade. That said, I do have to garden and visit trailcams.
Meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe said on CBC's The National ticks are 'crawling bags of pathogens.'
There was one turkey just sitting there in the grass! It didn't want its picture taken and took off. I'd be happier with a flock. They eat ticks!
In the pine tree, the vireo nest is popping. This is one I found in winter, just to show you the size.
Cinnamon loves this spot. It has been so hot, the air conditioner was on, but 'if I fits, I sits!'
I had fun bear watching!
I think there are two! A young one and a mature one.

What a nice surprise, to hear little bear huff, and then maybe one huff from big guy. Fred and little one are still there, thankfully!

ReplyDeleteThe bears really impress me....I am fascinated with Bears. I do hope the little kit found a new place rather than the fox getting it. Ticks and deer flies..sounds like shelter is needed a good bit for you all. I do enjoy your trail cams Jenn...

ReplyDeleteNo ticks for me this summer so far, thank goodness. I hate them things. I have a few friends who have developed serious illnesses from them which have lifetime effects. I do my woodsy geocaching in the late fall and winter.

ReplyDeleteI must get my critter photos up. But, meanwhile, yours are a lot of fun and very nicely done. We used to have a trail camera trained on the deer feeding station and I swear they would put their rumps up to it on purpose. Well, anthropomorphism, but I did have a lot of butts.
ReplyDeleteGroundhog news is interesting, but I'm sorry one is gone. Enjoyed the bear videos with the frogs croaking. Cinnamon is so sweet looking. Another bird nest to monitor. You're lucky to have so much wildlife in your garden.
