Look to the light!

In these trying times, it helps to find the light. A lot of cultures and winter festivals involve light during these cold days. It's dark by 4:30, and it makes such a difference!

There is light everywhere! I like the fireplace channel on TV. I was reading by it, while Joe watched football in the basement.

We are still playing around with the train table. The snow globe was a gift from Caitlin one year. It is so pretty.

It's been pretty cold here, and both cats have been snuggling.

Jo had his birthday party in Ottawa. They did axe throwing! There was cake after. They earned it.

I hauled out my creche scene. Finished one Christmas Eve when the three kidlets were wee ones... I think about 35 years ago! The bodies are little cones made from cereal box cardboard. The angel praying belonged to my parents. I've tried cleaning her up, using techniques I spotted on The Repair Shop. I think she predates me.

It is my 68th birthday Dec. 26th. We went to the Camera Trading Company in Perth. I bought me a used camera. It is a Canon Rebel T7i . The manual I downloaded. Old dog, new tricks. I think I'm too old to remember all the tricks. I love the screen, though. It flips out, and turns upside down. I need a tutor or something!

  3. Oh boy, a new toy! Love that you're willing to try new things. Just keep on doing one new one each day, and repeat the ones you like.

  4. Sue constantly has a tv fireplace going, or I should say a cozy scene that includes a fireplace, and sometimes a cat.

    Congrats on your new camera.

  6. A great camera model, better than my 500D, and although heavy, will take superb photos. Yes, dark so early, While Josh was out of town, I looked at the sunrise and sunset times, and how they varied according to how far East he was. Your distances are HUGE compared to anything down here.

  8. I have a lot of solar lights and it has been so dark & dreary that they hardly stay on at all.

  11. Happy 68TH! That camera looks just like mine. It has lots of bells and whistles that I do not use...I like the setting Flash off it works well for me. I should mess around more with the other settings...it all takes time:)

  15. Happy early birthday from me. That’s a great camera you treat yourself to. Always takes me a while to figure it all out. I tend to do the basics and lock in but I really should push myself a little bit to learn more, and I seem to be like this with everything 🙄. I am who I am, lol! Looks like Jo had a great party. I am impressed with his ax throwing. Loved looking at all your decorations and kitties are so adorable.
