In these trying times, it helps to find the light. A lot of cultures and winter festivals involve light during these cold days. It's dark by 4:30, and it makes such a difference!
It's been pretty cold here, and both cats have been snuggling.
Jo had his birthday party in Ottawa. They did axe throwing! There was cake after. They earned it.
I hauled out my creche scene. Finished one Christmas Eve when the three kidlets were wee ones... I think about 35 years ago! The bodies are little cones made from cereal box cardboard. The angel praying belonged to my parents. I've tried cleaning her up, using techniques I spotted on The Repair Shop. I think she predates me.
Happy early birthday! I bet you get a lot of use from the camera.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool camera! Maybe there's a photo shop or photography instructor / class in the area? Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteOh boy, a new toy! Love that you're willing to try new things. Just keep on doing one new one each day, and repeat the ones you like.
ReplyDeleteSue constantly has a tv fireplace going, or I should say a cozy scene that includes a fireplace, and sometimes a cat.
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas lights and candles.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new camera.
A great camera model, better than my 500D, and although heavy, will take superb photos. Yes, dark so early, While Josh was out of town, I looked at the sunrise and sunset times, and how they varied according to how far East he was. Your distances are HUGE compared to anything down here.

ReplyDelete... now you've raised our expectations! YAM xx
I have a lot of solar lights and it has been so dark & dreary that they hardly stay on at all.
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful light you captured. Oh the memories in those Christmas ornaments. Isn't the Repair Shop a wonderful show?
ReplyDeletei can imagine that axe throwing would be great exercise. never done that ... wow. hope u r well this week. take care. ( ;
ReplyDeleteHappy 68TH! That camera looks just like mine. It has lots of bells and whistles that I do not use...I like the setting Flash off it works well for me. I should mess around more with the other settings...it all takes time:)
ReplyDeleteAxe throwing is fun. I went with my girl friends last year.
ReplyDeleteI love the decorations.
ReplyDelete...happy birthday, you sill are a young lady! Your camera sounds wonderful, my Sony has a similar screen, I find it very handy. Stay warm and well.
ReplyDeleteYou're enjoying a slow Christmas decorating season. And then the excitement of an approaching birthday. Life is good.
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday from me. That’s a great camera you treat yourself to. Always takes me a while to figure it all out. I tend to do the basics and lock in but I really should push myself a little bit to learn more, and I seem to be like this with everything 🙄. I am who I am, lol! Looks like Jo had a great party. I am impressed with his ax throwing. Loved looking at all your decorations and kitties are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Loving the lights! And Jo's party looks fun. Three cheers on your new camera and happy early birthday! Can't wait to see what all you do with it!
