It is good to get out and about. These have been lovely last days for the season. My favourite thing is to read on the back deck. Joe drove into the city a week ago. He had errands, and met a friend for lunch. He brought me home a book, On Call, by Dr. Anthony Fauci. What an amazing career! It is fascinating. Even reading it on the back deck, in the safety of home, it is sad, difficult, but moving.
Dr. Fauci was in the forefront of developments around treatment and protocols for HIV-AIDS, Ebola, anthrax scares, SARS, West Nile virus, COVID and Trump.
After late lunch (2 p.m.!) we decided on a drive. The zoom lens came in handy! Old Kingston Road!
We were there in March during a 2023 Gramma Camp: Narrows Lock!
You never know which birds you will see! We found a laughing loon!

I never seen loons here so thanks for that! It looks like a lovely excursion and loads of fun. I so admire Dr. Fauci -- I would love to read that book.
...Dr. Anthony Fauci has been dedicated to health for his entire career and Trump abused him.
Often I hear the call of the loons in the Adirondack, but see them.
I'd like to read the book about Fauci, as I admired how he tried to diplomatically stand up to Trump. I loved seeing your album today...such pretty scenes.

Fauci is a good example of a health administrator. He stuck to his guns and took a lot of guff.
The book sounds good. Fauci had a hard time of it under Trump :(

What a lovely drive. Reminds me we should get out soon for our traditional Autumn wander to see the leaves. We often get loons on the near by lake when they are migrating north in the spring, such a beautiful bird.
Oh, how I miss the mournful call of the loon. We hope to make it to Canada next summer and will hear their cry again.
The driving is starting to get better.
