Trip to Carleton Place & Smiths Falls

Do you think I needed a haircut?!

For $12 you can get an 'extended head massage.' It was to last 15 minutes. I arrived at 2:40 for a 3 p.m. appointment. They took me in at 2:45, washed my hair, gave me the head massage, and a haircut, and I was out by 3:14. Hhhhmmm. I don't think I'll do a massage again.

After this, we popped into the garden centre. Is there anything better than being in a greenhouse after winter?!

My assistant!

Oh, the traffic was heavy! Everyone wanted to do 20km/h above the speed limit. The roads were really busy. It's often busy on the Thursday of a Monday long weekend. It's the weekend people tend to open their cottages.
So many people passing

Highway #7 has passing lanes, but Highway #15 people still want to drive 100km/h in an 80 km area.

The turtle fences at work, or rest, I guess!

We arrived in Smiths Falls for dinner. This dude was a bit of a mystery! He had two messages: NATIONALCITIZENSENQUIRY.CA and TALKTRUTH.CA
I had to look them up when I got home. I shouldn't have wasted my time! People who believe their religion, or cause, or right wing conspiracies, should be shared!

I'll finish my story tomorrow! Plus my new plants!

  1. You just reminded me; I need a haircut today too! I will often look up websites or watch the news of opposing views of my own. I think it is healthy to see or read what they are seeing from the media. Won't change my opinion, but it does give me some insight to their views.

  2. Well, I want to see the plants, but your haircut too of course! So silly to change from "The End is Coming" to links to sites on the signs! Traffic is so bad sometimes on no-passing roads. I was behind a tractor going along one country road yesterday, and put my flashers on so nobody would come speeding right into my 10 mph rear end of car. He fortunately turned off after going around a few bends!

  3. Gemmell's is a good place to be, especially in spring.

I was out very early this morning, and there was no traffic to speak of, even on 7.

  4. I've never had a head massage, and I cut my own hair, so I'd spend that time in the garden center ;)

  5. I adore nurseries and have very little will power in them. Looking forward to seeing your new plants.

  6. Looking forward to part 2. The garden center looks great but yes, seems like you could do a good head massage at home compared to a rushed one. What a wonderful day!

  7. I can't wait to see your plants!
The roads get crazy here too during Holidays. I like to stay home.

Conspiracies. I just don't understand how people can believe in them.

  8. I always find it so relaxing when I have my hair washed at the hairdressers and that extended head massage sounds good.

Sorry the roads were really busy, ours always seem busy these days, so much more traffic on them!

    Have a good week ahead.

    All the best Jan
