Peculiar Sunday

We had a peculiar time of it Sunday. I took Cinnamon for walkies in the forest. He didn't like the snowy patches. He was convinced winter was over when we left the house.

Here he comes! He didn't get much farther than this. It was a solitary forest walk!

It is so peculiar seeing the wetland so wet in January.

The frogpond is back to pond status.
Here it is in spring:

There are puddles! I need new rainboots, we've more rain on the way.

I looped around, by myself, on our third lot, and came back to the house. After doing some work in the back, I whistled to get Cinnamon back home. There he was, on the sidewalk.

Nutmeg

Back indoors, I was looking out the window and the mourning doves flew off. I thought it was our visitor Oregano. We figured out it was Nutmeg, who did NOT want to come in.  Someone let the basement door open, and she surprised a flock of mourning doves.

That's a look. She knew I was trying to get her back in!

  2. Weather can be so confusing. It sure lets people and cats know they are not really in charge.

  4. It was a long week in which we tend to lose our bearings with the tow holidays, and I think having them on Sunday was different too.

  5. The weather is very weird this winter. You had so much snow that has disappeared.

  6. Wow! Hard to believe how quickly your mega snow has melted. Wish Sierra would come when called.

  8. Poor Cinnamon and Nutmeg. You had failed in your duties. Winter is still there, and Nutmeg wasn't ready to come inside again...

  10. Your snow looks quite non existent in comparison to our news reports. It's not like our UK news to exaggerate. LOL. Enjoy.

  12. We have had lots of mist and tiny raindrops but the ponds are still empty and our well is almost empty again.

  13. Cats are tricky when they don't want to come in, you get close enough to reach down and in a flash they are across the yard. The green reeds pond is so pretty, you must get a lot of frogs in there.
