Firstly, to answer your question AC, we did get the alert about a storm yesterday. I thought it was for the previous storm [What a day of rain!] and someone messed up. Although, they are now warning some more for today. Sigh.
I thought the deer deserved a shout out. Also, hubby adores his deer! There are several about. The fawns still have their spots.

And in the front yard, through the front window. I don't know if the camera is fading or if it was just the glass. Momma is still lactating. But not for long at one time! In the video you can see her walk away after a few moments. The fawn is really aggressive and I can see why she'd walk away!Sept. 18, 8:42 a.m. from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
Clover and her fawn have been out and about more often during the day.

The new trailcam isn't the best, but it does pick up the action.Doe & twins from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
I moved the frogpond trailcam to the arbour. There was a lot of action there! The critters use both our driveway and the arbour path down to the meadow quite frequently.doe from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.

This is a sign of fall, when they gather for moral support in their winter yards. Our forest attracts the does, and the bucks go elsewhere.4 deer from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
...cute.
ReplyDeleteI also wondered if it was an old text that, somehow, just arrived. i haven’t seen any other warnings yet, but there may be ‘weather’ this afternoon, so we shall see.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the deer, so cautious, but munching away.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute neighbours that you have.
ReplyDeleteLove your deer. Lambs are hard on their mothers too.
ReplyDeleteThoroughly enjoyed these, marvelous videos Jenn. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThey're good company to have around.
ReplyDeleteNice series of photos on deer behavior.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteYour title reminded of the song from the Sound of Music, Doe a deer, a female deer. Cute photos, they are adorable critters. Take care, have a happy day!
I can't get anough of deer -- their presence is such a gift. (Not fond of them pooping on the lawn, but can't have everything!) Lovely photos and videos.
ReplyDeleteThese are so much fun to watch. We have a lot of deer but they are on Maui and Molokai. I believe they are getting to be a problem though.
ReplyDeleteThey all look healthy and happy!
ReplyDeleteThey look like they've found a great place to live :) I know people who don't like deer because they eat all their plants.
