For some dumb reason I thought that the screw had been sheared off, and closed the door and took off the handle. MISTAKE. The front separated from the metal part of the door. I left it to cook until all was done. Turns out the one screw was loose, and let go. It was tricky, but I managed to get it back together, screwed back in, with hubby's help to hold key parts. sigh.
Yard works
It's been fine weather for ducks. It's cold for us humans, however, and too wet. There is still flooding all along the Ottawa River: Flooding in Ontario.
The ferns are pretty happy, as well as the ducks. Cool and wet.

The hummingbirds have been wonderful to see.

This tree had fallen over April 21st. I decided it was time to move it. Too heavy, I had to chop it into pieces. I sharpened my axe and went to it. It's hard work for an old f@rt! My arms feel good, though.
It took me four days, but I finally chopped up the dead tree enough to get it off of my garden and off the lawn. That axe is amazing. I didn't want to use the skilsaw, as it gives me carpal tunnel syndrome!
We have so many dead elms from Dutch Elm Disease.

In the backyard... can you see them?

Good little groundskeepers!
