March 26 – part 3

Athens, Front of Yonge Township,
Mallorytown, Rockport and Ganonoque.
Finally,

Gananoque

Somedays I have a navigation fail. We didn't mean to travel on the 401, but follow the water. sigh.

I like spotting major renovations. Ones we're not paying for!

I was mother's helper on an island when I was in gr. 12. The family owned an number of islands near Parry Sound. We would arrange to meet on one beach and swim with the little kids and picnic. At this stage in my life, I don't think I could do that!

Another closed business: boat tours. Soon, soon, soon!

A swan! Just one.

We saw the hydro crew and didn't think anything of it. Once we arrived for lunch at this inn, we realised they were closed due to the hydro work!

Helicopter tours

Barn swallows have new place to live along Highway 401

Kristyn Richardson, a stewardship biologist with Bird Studies Canada, said the population of these birds has been on the decline in Ontario.

I'm sure this is habitat for nesting barn swallows.

I cannot tell you how heart-warming it is to see all this open water. Such a deep blue.

Two deer on the road home.

On the way home: Fox on Narrows Lock Rd.
