It's Friday

It's Paint Party Friday. These trees line the back of my nonagenarian client's property. (I spend three hours, twice a week, trying to find funny tales to tell her and make her laugh.) They have some bird houses, as well. They inspired my sketch.

It's quite the storm coming up the eastern seaboard. The blue is snow, greens are rain. We have lost 35 cm of snow cover in two days. We had 20 mm rain last night.

Then there is the political storm. I heard this quote on the radio, I think it was a book author.
"We really need to learn to ignore the things that don't add value to our lives."
That said, we must look for the truth. Our world is richer for the modern immigrants who seek a better life. This is called human capital. The lives they live enrich us all.

We must look for the good people who surround us. This is multicultural Toronto, where I grew up.

  2. Lovely sketch, it is a keeper. That snow is coming to you so fast, hope the firewood is inside, and you have ample coffee and other necessities on hand.

  3. I must say I never cared much for Trump, but his remarks most recently have just broken my heart.
I don't know how my country got to this point, but I am deeply ashamed right now.

the quote; "We really need to learn to ignore the things that don't add value to our lives." This is the very essence of Vedantic philosophy! Take in only that which warms the heart, stimulates the intellect and soothes the heart. Your story of the lad and his pennies is such a thing! Leave the rest to itself. Your picture is another 'lifter' &*> YAM xx

  8. First I love your post and your art. This is the first time in my 65 years that I have been ashamed of our president and congress that won't do the job they are suppose to be doing.

  9. Ignoring is good. One can too easily be caught up in non-productive arguments on social media. I followed one argument yesterday for awhile because what people have to say interests me although it also often makes me despair. It was about Trump's silly tweet about not going to London because of the embassy situation. Very soon, the discussion became about Muslims (the claim being made that London is a Muslim city and should be avoided) and Sharia Law in the UK.
