Too much rain!

For a change of pace, hubby took me on a drive around Perth and Port Elmsley. I have to show these now, as we had snow and -12 C. temperatures on Friday. Everything here (goldfish pond and frogpond) frozen over!


The quarry, pretty bleak.


Port Elmsley, with the remains of the graphite mill. The remaining wall looks pretty wobbly!


A quiet moment with Annie, burning some sage. Our deer were back in the yard. We haven't seen them in the daytime for ages. The first snow was a shock! So was the sudden drops in temperatures.

    That's a very beautiful monument , the one with the horse and soldier!

    So far, we have no rain at all. Hopefully it'll start raining next month. We usually have a three-month winter, but with the last decade change in climate we don't really know what to expect any more. All we can do is to work on preparedness to all kinds of situations; floodings, power outages, road issues. Snow is rare here, and only on the hills.

    I don't know if I've ever even driven through Port Elmsley. I don't remember it if I have. That wall looks interesting.
