My birthday spa day!

A manicure is just crazy for me, as they just don't last. I'm hauling wood and doing outdoor chores, and all. However, for my birthday, my darling daughter and I went to the Parkside Spa for a facial and pedicure. I was offered a special tour when they first opened, but I didn't make it. I don't recall why. That was two years ago.
It was an ice storm on Dec. 26th, Happy 60th to me!, and my special day had to be postponed. Off we went to town on Saturday. The whole fan damily was supposed to be here, and then a sleepover, but poor Josee wasn't feeling well.
There was a wedding party in the hotel, and the ladies had been a few days before to get done up. As we finished in the afternoon, the bride was getting into the limo.
The spa looks out over Stewart Park, a popular place for wedding photos.
Summer wedding!

Afterwards, we went out and I bought us lunch! What a lovely mother/daughter day!

The facial

It was lovely. So relaxing.

  5. Hi Jenn, it's the other Jenn from Ontario! Thanks for popping by my blog. I had to laugh about the manicure comment. I garden a lot so manicures are money well wasted for me as well. I really like your blog! Hope you had a lovely spa day! -Jenn

  6. I used to have a pedicure regularly at a good place in town, in addition to my own weekly pedicure at home. And then, one day I caught a toe infection, quite a serious one, and I stopped the pedicure in town. I'm thinking of renewing my old habit as it is such a relaxing treat, but I keep postponing it again and again. Fear, I suppose.
Having the treat together with your daughter makes it all the more pleasurable.

  9. Honestly Jenn, you look cute even in the middle of a facial! It was definitely a perfect day for the two of you. I don't work even a fraction as hard as you do, but I feel the same as you about a manicure. Definitely not worth it -- but I love me my regular pedicures. Used to do an occasional massage when I was still working.... never tried a facial, should do that sometime.
